Our conservation efforts are conducted in collaboration with CIMTROP and are focused on conserving the Sabangau and Kalampangan Forests in which we work.
CIMTROP regularly patrol the forest for illegal activities and for fires. Occurring in the dry season, these fires can be very damaging.
OuTrop grow native seeds in our purpose built nursery. We are developing methods and working towards reforesting previously cleared/burnt areas in Sabangau.
In the wet season, CIMTROP can use the full canals in the forest to bring in materials to build dams. These dams decrease the drainage from the canals, which were originally dug to enable illegal logging, which CIMTROP stopped in 2004.
